Jennifer Engelmann - Principal
REGISTERED TEACHER 17541AU. M.B.B.O. (LONDON), DIP. ED. (DANCE)
MAJORS: PERFORMANCE - TAP/JAZZ.  TEACHING - ALL DANCE STYLES. RECREATION.  FULLY ACCREDITED ZUMBA TEACHER.
Trained in most aspects of teaching and performance in dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz/Funk, Ballroom, Modern Creative and Latin American. 
Jenny was initially trained from a young age at the Annette Kerin School of Dance.  She left school at age 15 and Auditioned to attend the Sydney Dance Development Centre where she was successful and completed a 3 year Dance Diploma.  Her teachers included Anne Butt, Peggy Watson, Norman Hall, Shane Carroll, etc.
Throughout her teaching career, Jenny has taught in high schools around the Sydney metropolitan area, ACTS Royal North Shore Hospital, The Sydney Dance Development Centre, Annual British Ballet Organization Concourse and by invitation, as a guest Choreographer and teacher at Studios on the North Coast of N.S.W.  Early in her career she toured America, attending classes and visiting various dance companies and studios.
Jenny is passionate about teaching and has over 25 years teaching experience.  She has trained many students to distinction level.  She trains groups and solo students for eisteddfods and is proud of their many achievements.  A current student has been cast in the main role of Michael Banks in the upcoming musical "Mary Poppins".  A former student has just been excepted into the acclaimed N.I.D.A.  Many former students work in the entertainment industry both nationally & internationally and some return as guest teachers from time to time.
Early in her career Jenny won a dance scholarship from brothers Ross & Jason Coleman (famed for being a judge on SYTYCD) to attend their Performing Arts Centre. 
Television credits included appearing weekly in all series of "Its A Knockout" from here she was invited by Lyndall Johns, to become a member of the famous "Australian Cowgirls".  Appearances continued on morning television, telethons etc. many corporate appearances followed as well as cheerleading for the Balmain Tigers, Penrith Panthers, Parramatta Eels, Sydney Swans, N.B.L, including Sydney Kings. 
Jenny has choreographed shows for amateur theatre and fashion parades. 
Other professional work includes promotional/character work including Simpsons, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam etc.
Jenny is a former member of the South Sydney Junior Leagues Club Ballet, choreographed and manage by Miss Debbie Graham and, under her direction performed promotional & professional work in clubs and theatre restaurants in and around the metropolitan area.
Jenny passes on her knowledge and wealth of experience to all her students in a fun, friendly and energetic environment!
 
Mitchell Turnbull
Mitchell began dancing at the tender age of 6 taking classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Modern.
After graduating from Newtown High School Of The Performing Arts in 2004, Mitchell embarked on an International/National Career in commercial dance; performing in Europe, South America and the USA; which included contracts with Royal Caribbean Cruises, appearing in CBS ‘America’s Next Top Model’ alongside Tyra Banks, The Australian Club Entertainment Awards and MO Awards.
In 2009 was awarded a full scholarship with Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York as a company trainee.  Mitchell was given the opportunity to perform as a featured artist, performing all over New York at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, New York City Centre and Riverfront Recapture in Hartford, this then lead to a position with Connecticut Ballet Company, USA.
Mitchell was contracted with MOD Dance Company in 2011 for their first national tour of Graeme Murphy's 'Suite Synergy’ as a featured artist.  In the same year he took part in a secondment with The Australian Dance Theatre in Adelaide.
In between the various dance contracts, Mitchell would always come back to pass on his knowledge and love of dance to students at numerous dance studios. This made him realise that he enjoys the challenge of teaching.

Christine Lee Tyrrell
Christine Lee tyrrell is a vocalist, well known for her talent to sing a wide variety of music styles. Christine has also trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Singing and Drama for the past 21 years. Some of her accomplishments whilst training include; Top of state for Trinity singing exam, Chorus member of the Civic theatre production of Les Miserables, Scholarship winner for Newcastle Grammar school in Music, Scholarship winner for Australian Popchoir, Featured singer/dancer in “Jubilee 2000” a catholic schools presentation and much more.
Since leaving Newcastle in 2001 Christine has been performing throughout Australia in her own Cabaret show. Performances include Newcastle Knights Home game, Jupiter’s Casino, Commonwealth Bank ball, Mayor’s Ball and many more. Christine has also been hosting children’s shows such as McDonald’s, Ice age and Astroboy throughout Australia.  
With her passion for footy Christine has also been a Cheerleader for Newcastle Knights, Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs.
You might have also caught a glimpse of Christine as an extra in television and movies such as Home and Away, Packed to the Rafters, Danny Deckchair and a few more.
Singing Credits:
*Top of state and Lake Macquarie in Grade 4 singing exam.
*Performed the Australian anthem for Newcastle Knights Rugby League team in 2003 and 2004, 2008 and 2010.
*Vocal Teacher for Australian Pop Choir 2002-2005, Menai Dance Centre 2006.
* Winner of Showcase National singing Championship 2005 at Jupiters Casino.
* Featured singer/dancer in Jubilee 2000 a cathlic schools spectacular.
* Previous 25% music scholarship with Newcastle Grammar school.
* Winner of Bankstown Trotters Talent quest 2006 and Five Dock Talent quest 2004.
* Currently performing in own cabaret show 'Christine Tyrrell and Lee Dancers' throughout Australia.
* Winner of 4 medals in World Championships of Performing Arts held in Los Angeles in 2010
* Currently performing in Childrens Shows throughout Australia as a host and Suit Performer
*Former Cheerleader for Newcastle Knights, Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs.
* Perfoming in Clubs throughout Australia in my Cabaret Show. Past Venues include Jupiters Casino, Newcastle Panthers, Castle Hill RSL, Twin Towns Club, Bankstown Sports Club, Petersham RSL and many more.

Lauren Carew
Lauren started her dance training at JDance performance studios (formerly Jenny’s Dance Centre) at the age of 4. She completed her BBO examinations including Ballet at intermediate level and both tap and Jazz at advanced 2 level with distinctions.. Lauren's passion for the arts sparked a desire the begin teaching in 2005 under the direction of Jennifer Engelmann. In 2011 she completed her certificate 4 in performing arts at ED5 international. She studied Jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, Hip hop, musical theatre, drama and singing under some of Australia’s most renowned teachers and choreographers including William Forsythe, Kim Traynor, Deb Whitelock, Scott Archer, Chris Horsey, Saskia Smith, Phillip Filo, Leslie Bell, Michael Corbett, Ed Wightman, Dolce Fisher and John Rowe.
Lauren is recognized as being a highly motivated and reliable individual whom delivers a high level of professionalism and discipline to each and every class or workshop under her instruction. Her impeccable training and invaluable experience along with her imaginative and energetic approach to teaching enables her to deliver outstanding dance education that captures the attention of all ages of students.
Lauren is an integral part of the Jdance team! Her loyalty and enthusiasm for the students at Jdance is a great asset!! Lauren is fully qualified and is a teaching member of the worldwide recognised British Ballet Organisation. Lauren has trained students at examination level with top marks!

Melissa Eaton
Melissa has been dancing since the age of 4 and has had a passion for the Performing Arts her whole life.  After completing the HSC in 2005, she obtained a 4 year Dance Education degree at the University of New South Wales (entry through audition and interview) with a Major in Dance and a Minor in Drama (Bachelor Arts Dance/Bachelor of Education). Through this course she was  taught by leading Australian performers and choreographers, including Tia Jordan, Ame Delves, Patrick Harding-Irmer (trained under Martha Graham), Adrian Van Winkelho, Veronica Beattie, Gilli O’Connell, ‘The Fondue Set’, Sue Healey and John Mullins (Dance educator). Throughout the 4 years many opportunities were available to dance at performance nights in styles which included contemporary, ballet,  jazz, musical theatre and hip hop. After graduating Melissa has taught Dance and Drama in numerous Sydney High Schools, including Northmead Creative and Performing Arts High School.
Melissa has been dancing at JDance since the age of 13. JDance has led to many dancing opportunities including performing in eisteddfods and fetes as a teenager and as a background dancer in the film clip of ex-Australian Idol James Kannis. At a younger age she also performed at events including 2 Rugby league Grand Finals, School Spectacular (Sydney Entertainment Centre), Sydney North Dance Festival, Ryde School Spectacular (Sydney Opera House), Sydney Dance Company workshops and aerobics groups.
In 2011 and 2012 Melissa successfully auditioned to become a Cheerleader for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This has led to many dance and performance opportunities including home games (sidelines, pre-game and half-time entertainment), Live TV for State of Origin pre Function, Club events, Fetes, Shopping Centre appearances and children’s teaching clinics.
Along with dancing Melissa has always had a passion for drama and acting.  Achievements in this area include holding one of the main roles in a drama production at UNSW ‘Pantegleize’, being a body double for the main actress in the new upcoming TV Show “Tricky Business” and being an extra for TV show “Home and Away”.  She has also had experience ‘behind the scenes’ working with Network 10 as a TV Studio Assistant for ‘Ready Steady Cook’, running lighting and sound for selected university shows and assistant FOH and Stage Manager at the Zenith Theatre.

Steven Chandler
Steven has spent 20 Years training and working in various styles of dance including Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and Tap (LGTDA).
Professional highlights include the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony (Lead Tap Group) choreographed by Dean Perry (Tap Dogs), Disney's "High School Musical" (Newcastle Region Principal Cast), working with Debbie Ellis (SYTYCD)as well as work for various charity and community groups like "Live Sites" and character/suit work including "Yo Gabba Gabba" and "Bob The Builder" and “Scooby Doo”.
To further his knowledge and feed his passion for the performing arts Steven has also travelled to the U.S performing in California and Hawaii and taken class at IDA Hollywood and Steps On Broadway. 
On the home front, he has taken every opportunity to take workshops from various amazing choreographers in the industry today and completed a Certificate IV in Performing Arts at Urban Dance Centre.
Teaching and choreographing Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Lyrical/Contemporary for the last 12 years Steven hopes to not only foster a love of dance in all his students but also allow them to become the best artist they can be.

Sally Hare
Sally began her dancing at a very young age and went on to study at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts High as well as Brent Street Studios. She then furthered her training at Dance World 301 in Melbourne with Robert Sturrock. Sally has most recently finished touring Australia in Fame the musical and dancing with groups Baby Got Tap (choreographed by Veronica Beattie), Nufirm Dance (choreographed by Rosa Agius), and J-Town with Jesse and Joel Rasmussen. Her latest accolade is being asked by Kelley Abbey to appear in the hit musical "Fame", touring Australia for 2010. Jdance are thrilled to have her back on their teaching staff. Miss Sally loves teaching at Jdance because the students are enthusiast and well trained.
Sally’s versatility has enabled her to work with many of Australia’s leading choreographers including Juliette Verne, Alana Scanlon, Robert Sturrock, Cameron Mitchell, William Forsythe, Leah Howard, Virginia Ferris, Olivia Ansell, Ame Delves, Travers Ross, Shannon Holtzappfel and Simon Lind. In 2008, she successfully made her way through to the the Top 40 of Australia’s So You Think You Can Dance, Season 2.
Sally’s credits include touring Australia and New Zealand with the World Festival of Magic and performing with Hip Hop artist Israel at the Soul Nation Festival in Jakarta. She has been featured in product launches for major brands such as Toyota, Sony, Target and Harley Davidson, and has danced at major events such as the Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, V8 Supercar Awards Ceremonies, AFL Grand Final Breakfast, Small Business Awards, and NRL Grand Finals. Other credits include performing in music clips for Taxiride and Ricki Lee, appearances on Home and Away, and commercials for Samsung, Suntory, McDonalds, and Bonds.
Aleisha Cossettini
Aleisha has been dancing from the age of 4, training at the "Jdance Performance Studio" (formerly named "Jenny's Dance Centre" & Annette Kerin School of Dance). Aleisha furthered her studies in Dance by firstly completing a 1yr Certificate in Performing Arts at the Sydney Dance Development Centre & then went on to do David Atkins 2yr Diploma in Performing Arts Course, being taught as well as working for some of the great choreographers David Atkins, Maree Poloski, Dein Perry, Jason Coleman, William Forsythe, Kelly Abbey, Cameron Mitchell & Kelly Akers to name a few.
Her Stage/Theatre work consist of many Caberet Shows across Sydney  including Bankstown Theatre Restaurant, South Sydney Junior Leagues Club, Performing on the Captain Cook Cruise Ships,  Australian Tours with ‘Charo’ & ‘Joe Daniels’, also touring with the show ‘Beyond the Stars’, as Lead Singer/ Dancer.Cheerleading for The Balmain Tigers, Penrith Panthers, Sydney Swans & The Sydney Kings Basketball has also kept her busy over the years.A highlight was performing at the 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony with  Dein Perry’s Bootmen & also appearing in the movie Garage Days choreographed by Paul Mecurio. Some other television credits were on numerous Film Clips for the Music Industry, Neighbours, GP, Home & Away, Halls Mints & Rugby League Commercials. Aleisha has worked in the Entertainment Industry all her life & is thrilled that she has been able to make a living doing something that she loves. She has taught here at Jdance for the past 20 years & loves being able to pass on her knowledge & experiences from the industry to the children that come here to learn. 
Wil Sabin

Born and raised in New Zealand, Wil started dancing at the age of 3. His professional career commenced when he was 10, where he was cast in his first musical with Watershed productions, ‘Assassins’, followed by ‘The Sound Of Music’ produced by Pan Pacific Productions. His obvious talent and great personality allowed him to be cast in numerous TV Commercials and Campaigns.At 16, Wil won the prestigious ‘New Zealand National Young Performer Award’ for Tap Dance and still holds the honour of being the youngest performer ever to win.Moving to Sydney and calling Australia Home at 17, he completed his training at the Brent Street Studios. Wil was soon introduced into the professional dance world and began working extensively in all areas of the industry.His Stage credits include ‘Magic Revolution- The Experience’ featuring Cyril which toured 30 cities in Japan, ‘The Sydney Showboat’, ‘Hats Off Charity’, ‘The Drifters Live’, ‘Icon Male revue’, ‘Stealth Cruises’, ‘Cleo Bachelor of the Year Awards’ and the ‘Australian Hair Fashion Awards’.
Highly sought after as a commercial dancer, Wil has worked with artists including Deborah Cox (USA), The Presets, Nicki French, Caroline O Connor, Kristine W, The Young Divas, Stonebridge, Deni Hines, Belinda Chapple, Suzanne Palmer, Jade Macrae, Connie Mitchell (Sneaky Sound System), Rhonda Burchmore, Hoodoo Gurus, Ricki Lee, Prinnie, Paulini and Israel. He has appeared in Music videos for Melissa Tkautz, James Kannis and Suzy Ray.Wil was fortunate to be cast and perform with ‘Rhythm on Tap’ alongside Sir Elton John in Hong Kong.Television credits include ‘The Arias’, ‘Studio Disney’, ‘This is Your Life’, ‘Good Morning Australia’, ‘Mornings with Kerri Anne’, ‘NRL Grand Final’, ‘Footy Show Grand Final’, ‘Channel V Urban Music Awards’ and ‘Australia’s Next Top Model’.His TVC Credits include Lexus, Just Jeans, Weetbix, Munseng, Dexion, Expedia, Air New Zealand and Camera House. Wil also works in the fashion industry modeling for a diverse array of designers such as Sarina Suriano, Fashion Assassin, Azzolini, Deisel, and Wella.Wil has danced extensively in the corporate entertainment world working with international clients including Sony, Saatchi & Saatchi, Omega Trend, Cirque Du Soleil, NRMA, World Dental Congress, Virgin Mobile, Small Business Awards, Yamaha, Phillips Fox, Cobra, Sydney Confidential, Australian Hardware Awards, Housing Industry Awards, Aust. Hair Expo, Diana Lingerie & Star City.Wil’s International Credits as Show Choreographer/Director/Dancer include the MGM Grand Casino- Macau, The Venitian Casino- Macau and Club Eden- Korea. Creatively, Wil is now revered as one of Australia’s hottest new Choreographers with such a great eye for dance, direction and styling, that he has become a one-stop-shop!He is the Artistic Director/Choreographer/Stylist for the Maxims Dolls who perform nightly at Resorts World Casino- Sentosa, Singapore.Although Wil is only in his early 20’s, his career has jumped leaps and bounds recently through his intense dedication to the artists and clients he works with and the reputation that his shows have built for him.
Will is currently choreographing and performing professionally so is unable to teach in 2012 but still holds a close professional relationship with the Jdance studio. Having many contacts in the professional dance field, Will had the Jdance senior students perform and appear in a “Top 40” video clip.
